Nomads have taken out the Fat Boy 10s title again for the 4th time, winning the 2010 tournament in style by thoroughly outplaying the hosts the Pot Bellied Pigs in the final, and going the whole day without conceding a single point against them. Outstanding performance, and great tournament rugby - the team got better with each game as the combinations started to come together, and the individual performances were excellent. Well done to Nigel Lawson named player of the day, but hard to pick one from such a good all-round team performance.
And a good day out for the Carabaos, though with less stellar results on the scoreboard. A draw first up against Alabang Eagles was a good result, and set the tone for a great defensive effort all day. One loss to Causeway Bay relegated Carabaos to lower tiers and a hotly contested semi-final against the US navy boys from the George Washington ended 7-7. Despite his clear weight advantage over his opponent Alex was ruled too thin for a run off, and in the re-run Jimbo couldn't quite hold off the much younger and lighter american. Carabaos played some good rugby in patches, but in the end some basic mistakes held them back from a few more wins. Next year....
A good day of rugby, a great 5 match run from Nomads, another trophy for the cabinet, and no one in jail (well not for too long anyways). Well done to all.
